Policy for circulation services at Fayza Aboulnaga Central Library:
What is Permitted:
- Faculty members may borrow four information resources for a period that may extend to a full academic semester, provided that the number of copies exceeds five copies. If the number of copies is less than that, borrowing is permitted for two weeks, renewable for another two weeks.
- Postgraduate students and teaching assistants (TA) may borrow three information resources for a period of two weeks, renewable for a maximum of another two weeks.
- Undergraduate students may borrow two information resources for a period of two weeks, renewable for a maximum of one additional week.
- University employees may borrow two information resources, renewable for a maximum of another two weeks.

What is Not Permitted:
The following items may not be borrowed outside the library:
- Academic theses, single-copy books, references, dictionaries, yearbooks, atlases, periodicals, etc.
- Students are not permitted to borrow textbooks of a special nature of which there are few copies, but they may be borrowed by the professor or teaching assistant who teaches the course.
- Borrowing is not permitted during inventory periods or during the updating of data related to library holdings.
- If the borrowing period expires without the borrower returning the borrowed items by the due date, a notification will be sent to return the books within five working days. In case of non-response, the borrower will be deprived of borrowing and will not be cleared until the items are returned or their price is paid.
- The borrower must return the books in the condition in which they were received from the library and is obligated to compensate for any damage or loss by bringing a substitute copy of the same edition or a newer edition of equal or greater value, or by paying its price according to the current price, to be paid to the accounts department upon a statement from the library administration.
- All students are committed to returning their borrowed items before the end of June each year.
- The library may notify the borrower to return borrowed books before the specified period ends.
- Otherwise, for the proposed rules or any exceptions in the borrowing period or number of books, the approval of Professor Sameh Nada, Vice President for Education and Academic Affairs, must be obtained.
